Roadmap.

Sessions is just getting started!

With Sessions being such a new app, we understand you might have questions about what’s next. We’re passionate about making Sessions an indispensable creative tool for the studio and stage and are working hard every day to make this a reality for more and more musicians.

The roadmap below gives a sneak peek at what we’re currently working on and where we see Sessions going in the future. If you don’t see your personal favourite feature on the roadmap, please drop us a message. We love hearing how Sessions is used ‘in the wild’ and appreciate that so many of you take the time to get in touch with suggestions and feature requests or just to say ‘Hi’.

Recently completed.

These features are now available in recent app updates.

Streamlined single window workflow

Plug-ins will become first-class citizens in the main window, bringing a more fluid and focused app experience.

Plug-In Manager

Take control of which Audio Unit plug-ins are available for use in Sessions.

Sessions for iPad

One of the most popular requests has been for an iPad version of Sessions.

In the pipeline.

These features are under active development or are scheduled to begin very soon.

Multi Threaded Audio Engine

We’re re-engineering the audio engine to take full advantage of the multicore A and M series chips in modern Macs and iPads so you can run even more plug-ins.

Sidechains

From vocoders to compressors, there are many instruments and effects that can make use of a sidechain input.

AU MIDI Plug-ins

You’ll be able to use your favorite Audio Unit MIDI plug-ins in Sessions.

Always-On Recorder + MIDI

We know how much you love the Always-On Recorder. It’ll be even better with support for MIDI recording.

Update for Performers

Backing track playback, large Scene switching buttons and Always-On Scenes.

Over the horizon.

Just a small selection of some of the ideas we’re exploring for future developments.

Sessions as DAW plug-in

Wouldn’t it be great to use the sounds and plug-in chains you’ve created in Sessions in your DAW without having to recreate them?

External MIDI synths and sound modules

Send MIDI data to external MIDI synths and sound modules and bring the audio back into Sessions.

Improved interoperability

Play nice with others by building in support for OSC and MIDI 2.0.

All plans are subject to change and circumstances may arise that prevent specific features from being delivered.
