Open Planet Software was formed in Scotland in 2007 to develop software for the Mac, before embracing the iPhone, Apple Watch and other devices in Apple’s ever growing ecosystem.

We’re a small team with a diverse range of experience that includes science, engineering, music production and performance, 3D graphics, game development, retro console emulation, digital mapping and data migration as well as our core app development skills.

We have developed a catalogue of our own apps that includes the popular Just Press Record which has been featured on the App Store, shown on-stage at WWDC and won ‘App of Year’ and other press accolades.

We’ve also worked for a broad range of clients that include Epic Games (Metal rendering in the Unreal Engine), Feral Interactive (Mac ports of LEGO Harry Potter, Bioshock 2 and Sonic Racing), Splice (Mac DAW syncing and collaboration), Bohemian Coding (Sketch), Forrest Pruzan (Disney’s Storymation Studio) and Knowledge Rocks (iPad sheet music app).
